Saying Goodbye

Kadin has been up all week until 11 PM making sure we don't leave without him...

Noah has been checking his bags again and again to make sure no toy is left behind... time we stopped watching Toy Story...

And the mood swings have gone from the highest highs to the lowest lows...

It must be transition time...

We are all excited about being home in Uganda... but getting there is never easy...

The goodbyes are always difficult... "Hey, talk to you soon... maybe in 2011" ... "Congrats on the pregnancy... we'll see the kid by the time it hits preschool!" ... "Sorry we didn't have more time to hang out and talk... we probably won't have much time the next time either" ... you don't say it but most people close to us get it...

The good thing is that difficult goodbyes can only mean that we are loved and cared for by family and friends...

Then there's the travel... refer back to the "blog log" January 24...

This time should be easier... Christine and I can practice man-to-man defense instead of me working the zone... our trip is just 4 flights and a night in DC... we are already in DC and nothing delightful from the boys to report... other than Kadin's adventure watering the flowers at the Holiday Inn with his pants at half mast...

Tomorrow we'll be up at 6 AM and taking a 15 hour flight to Ethiopia then a quick 2 hours to Uganda...

Then finally we will reach the promised land of power outages, jetlag and best of all Joseline... to watch the boys while we recover from the journey...

So for now... see you in 2011... or whenever we brave another journey to the US...

Here's a few pics of the boys and their friends... Seth, Lydia and Bastian...

Jeff, Christine, Noah and Kadin, We miss you already. It was strangely comforting having you in Florida - almost like you were home! We're really glad you had the time in Florida and met so many amazing people and new friends. We're praying you home to Uganda and Joseline!

Love, Mom (Nanny)

Uh, did I just read that you are expecting? Or was I mistaken?

Oh my gosh... it's a miracle! Ha, just kidding. Hurry up and post a travel blog Jeff, I'm dying to hear of your misadventures. Of course, you are back in Uganda now, so I guess "hurry up" is no longer in your vocabulary. Love you guys!
