Back to School

Noah has been talking about the first day of school for weeks... this year he is entering Reception class which is the same as American Kindergarten...

We thought he would have a hard time not being with Ms. Lwande... who has been his teacher the last year... but on Wednesday morning he woke up and told me he was excited to have Ms. Lund as his new teacher because her skin matches his...

Noah was ready and waiting well before 7:40 AM with his bag packed...

Kadin was excited about school last year... because it was new and he likes doing whatever Noah can do...

This year Kadin "don't, don't like school"... he would much rather stay at home all day by himself with mom, dad or Joseline to take care of him...

So he was in no mood for a first day of school picture...

Kadin eventually stopped crying by the time we reached school... I felt even better when one of the boys in Noah's class was screaming so hard that he made himself throw-up...

Kadin wanted to stay with Noah... but Ms. Lwande, who is now Kadin's teacher, promised that they would visit Noah at recess and lunch... which seemed to satisfy Kadin and he gave her a big hug as Christine and I walked away...

When we picked the boys up at 2:45 Kadin was still fast asleep from nap time... he hardly even moved when I picked him up to take him home...

Noah on the other hand told us about every minute of the day and decided that the first day of school was cause for celebration... so he helped Christine make a cake when he got home...

Even with the sugar buzz the boys were zombies by 6:30 PM and they slept in past 7 AM for the first time in months... I now know why parents also celebrate the first day of school... more people and activities to wear out their kids...

I love the boys but they can make this old man tired... its nice to see them tired for a change!
