Happy Anniversary...

Forgetting an anniversary can never be good... but I think Uganda will forgive us...

That's right... yesterday marked our 3 year anniversary of life in Uganda... and the 3 year anniversary of stonesinuganda...

I don't think you can say this to your wife but I'm pretty sure you can say it to a country... it feels like it has been a lot longer than 3 years!

We still haven't bought a present to celebrate the anniversary... but year three is something like paper... so today we'll try to recycle something... or on second thought we should renew our work permit for another 3 years...

It's hard to believe that 3 years ago we were being picked up by Kalafa at the airport and listening to Noah scream with excitement for the entire ride to Mukono about how bumpy the roads were... it was my 3rd trip to Uganda but different from the others... a one-way ticket seems to change everything...

For those who are wondering... "how much longer?"... "when are you coming home?"... or "when is your term up?"

I'd have to answer by saying... "This is home!"... Noah and Kadin don't remember life in the US and this is normal... for Christine and myself we feel the same... I think we have officially crossed the line and become one of those weird missionary families that belong in a foreign land...

So to all the faithful supporters who sent us here and keep us here... thanks!

And to Chris Kottre... thanks for explaining to me this phenomena we call "blogging" ... my mother will be forever grateful!

Congratulations on 3 years of serving the Lord in Uganda! Your mom is right. (aren't they always) My wife and I have been following your blog since March 2008 and enjoy keeping up with your successes and struggles. Your entries have entertained and inspired us. We have been to Uganda and have a passion for the people and the work God is doing there through people like yourselves. We pray for your family and your ministry at GBI.

Jeff & Christine,

Congratulations! It does seem like it's been forever since you've lived in CA. We miss you, but enjoy reading about your life and all of your wild adventures. We know God has led you to Uganda and has a plan for your family.

We think about you and pray for you often!

Jeff,

What a great testimony of God's purposes and grace to reach 3 years in Uganda! I have been encouraged by your blog and your life. I hope to see you in the future in Uganda or the US.
