Rhino Reserve

It's spring break for Noah and Kadin... so a few outings are necessary to ensure that the house will still be standing when the three weeks are up...

Christine planned a trip to the Rhino reserve this last week... or as Kadin refers to them... the Nih-ross-or-russ

Unlike a trip to the zoo... the only cage in sight is the fence around the reserve... when we arrived we a park ranger hopped in one of the cars and we began the 4X4 trek through the park...

There are only 6 rhinos since it is a new program aimed at reintroducing rhinos to the game parks... when we got close we shut off the engines and hiked the remained distance to the rhinos...

The rhinos are supervised around the clock so they are used to having visitors...

The boys were excited to see the rhinos for about 3 minutes and then started grabbing sticks to beat things and digging holes in the ground... but standing next to a rhino is not something they will soon forget...

Back at the ranger station there were birds to tease and cats to chase...

Just another day for jungle boys in Africa...
