Kadin's Party...

There is a good chance that Kadin wouldn't play with any of the kids at his birthday party so we decided to keep it small this year...

Our breakfast trip for doughnuts was unsuccessful... the bakery still hadn't finished rolling out the dough at 9 AM... so we just went home and had cake at 10 AM... he's 5 - it worked out just fine!

We are not trying to raise Kadin to be a girl by any means... although many were suspicious when we gave him heels, a pink dress and a princess crown for his 3rd birthday...

But this year Kadin was just dying to have a kitchen... so a kitchen is what he got... fridge, stove, place settings and plastic food... the boy was in heaven!
Kadin spent the rest of the morning making spaghetti, chicken and boiled eggs for anyone with an imagination and the ability to make fake eating sounds...

He was so excited he didn't even get around to his cake until noon!
As 5 year old birthdays go this one was a breeze... we had a great day at home enjoying the presents without a dozen other 5 year-olds screaming and experiencing sugar crashes all over our house... but not wanting to rob Kadin of that experience we will make sure to send a cake to school next week... his teachers are trained professional - I'm sure they can handle it!

Happy Birthday Kadin!

Oh man, 5?! Are you sure? I see Kadin's still sporting a "Noah" haircut... but at least I can see a few things haven't changed: Noah went straight for the cake (in pic 2) while his brother is still opening presents and Kadin still likes to store/horde things (he's just using a bigger, fancier fridge to put it all in now). haha :) Happy Bday to Kadin!!!
