Kadin the Christian...

When a new believer starts walking by faith there are a few signs which point to the genuiness of their conversion... a desire to share their faith with others... a desire to learn and grow... and compassion for the lost...

Kadin is has all 3... in some form...

In less than two days after Noah's alter call in the top bunk of their room... Kadin was found preaching the gospel to Nala and Kabaka... our dogs! Again he is new in his faith so we haven't covered a detailed systematic theology that includes whether or not dogs go to heaven but it was great to see his zeal to share his faith with others... I can only imagine what the kids in his class are hearing... or the rabbits for that matter...

Bed time has also changed... Kadin had a near panic attack last night when he thought that he was going to be sent to bed without reading his Bible... In Sunday school in Uganda the children always sing "read your bible and pray everyday if you want to grow"... for some reason he is now convinced that he is more than a head shorter than Noah because he has not been reading his Bible...

And finally... compassion for the lost... on Monday night we could not find Raphael... our turtle. Kadin cried for over an hour... it was so dramatic that I felt I finally had the daughter I have always wanted... but in the end Kadin confessed that his great fear was that Raphael was in hell with Santa... because Kadin had never had a chance to tell him about Jesus...

So Kadin is off to a great start... although he is still sharing his plots with Noah to go to hell and kill Santa... but for now it is just exciting to see Kadin as excited about Jesus as he is with dinosaurs...

Well, I believe there will be animals on the new earth. So its just a question of where they come from. New creations? Or resurrection bodies like us? Maybe Kadin is on to something! Didn't St. Francis of Assisi preach to animals?

Kadin: Keep it up. People who don't preach to humans have no right to tease someone who preaches to dogs.

Love,
Uncle Darren

Jeff, you really have a gift with words. This extremely cute story is a self-check for my stifled zeal for Jesus. Way to go, Kadin!
