Ten Four

10-4... It would be impossible to forget the day... or even the moment you became a parent! Noah Blake Atherstone is 9 years old today! I can't believe how fast this whole parenting thing flies by...

Noah is a gentle-hearted, outgoing,  friend-to-all, math wizz, swimming machine... he stands high above his classmates in size but seldom looking down or putting down his peers... Noah's caring spirit makes him a popular guy in any setting...

Noah has surprised me this year in silly areas like his new understanding of fashion and combing his hair like Justin- what's his name...

And no thanks to his parents we discovered this year that the boy can dance!

Much like his parents we discovered that Noah is competitive! He has learned to love playing cards with his mom and Monopoly with dad. Winning always seems to be the goal but with merciless parents he has also learned to be gracious in defeat... I don't think we will be winning much longer!

An unchanging aspect of Noah's childhood is his love for his little brother... knowing that his little brother is much like me I will say that Noah puts up with a lot! This must be how his has developed such a gentle and caring spirit...

I love walking in their room and seeing Noah reading to Kadin or trying to teach him something new... Noah takes his responsibility of being an older brother seriously and his care for Kadin is genuine and constant... I only hope that it will continue to develop into a lifetime bond of friendship and love...

Having a 9 year old is another new adventure in life... teaching responsibility, faith, character and long division all have their challenges... Noah continues to make us proud to be parents and most of all proud of who he is becoming!

There will be a party in Buloba tonight... cake, pizza and a new bike... and a prayer of gratitude that 9 years ago God brought this special kid into our lives!
